Procore Integration

Last updated: June 23, 2026

Background

The Procore Integration brings Document Crunch directly into Procore as a native side panel, allowing project teams to chat with their full project — specs, subcontracts, drawings, and more — without ever leaving Procore. This integration introduces Project Assist to Procore. Use the integration to ask cross-document questions, review playbooks, and generate redlines and comparisons — all from within your existing Procore workflows.

Things to Consider

  • The DC panel appears in 35 Procore view contexts (budgeting, change events, commitments, contracts, RFIs, submittals, schedule, inspections, observations, correspondence, and more). It does not appear in the Procore Documents module.

    • Directory: Click Edit next to any user's name in the project-level Directory

    • Correspondence: Click on the subject title of any correspondence item

    • RFIs: Click View next to any existing RFI item

    • Submittals: Select View next to any individual Submittal item (note: the panel does not appear within submittal packages)

    • Observations: Appears in main tool page and Edit view

    • Schedule: Appears on the main landing page for the tool (does not appear within individual task details)

    • Prime Contracts:

      • General details

      • Change orders

        • List and Details views

      • Invoices List view

      • Payments Received

      • Emails

    • Budget: Appears on the main landing page for the tool

    • Commitments: Appears in multiple locations including:

      • General commitment details

      • Subcontractor SOV

      • Change orders list view

      • Change order detail view

      • RFQs

      • Invoices list view

      • Payments issued

      • Emails

      • Note: Does not appear in invoice detail view

    • Change Events: Appears in main tool page and change event detail view

  • A Procore project must be linked to a Document Crunch project before Project Assist or document chat is available.

  • Artifacts generated in chat (redlines, comparisons, etc.) include download links but are not automatically saved into Procore.

  • The following are not included:

    • Notice Builder (available in the DC 2.0 main app)

    • Full Procore permission sync

    • Procore mobile support

    • Automated workflows

    • Saving AI Generated Documents directly into Procore.

Steps

Opening Document Crunch in Procore

  1. Navigate to any supported view in Procore (e.g., contracts, RFIs, submittals, schedule).

  2. The Document Crunch panel will appear on the right side of the screen.

Note: If you do not see the DC panel, confirm the plugin has been enabled for your organization's Procore account.

Signing Into Document Crunch From Within Procore

  1. In the Document Crunch side panel, select "Sign into Document Crunch" at the login screen.

    • Document Crunch remembers your choice via cookie — you will not need to re-select this on subsequent logins.

Linking a Procore Project to a DC Project

  1. Open the Document Crunch panel from any supported Procore view.

  2. A searchable dropdown will display all available Procore projects. Select the project you are currently working in.

  3. Document Crunch stores the project name and ID. A Procore connection indicator will appear on the DC project card confirming the link.

Tip: Clicking the Procore icon will take you directly to the project in Procore.

Chatting With Your Project — Project Assist

  1. Once a project is linked, open the Project Assist chat in the DC side panel.

  2. Type your question in natural language — for example:

    • "Who is responsible for HVAC per the subcontract?"

    • "Summarize the payment terms across all documents."

  3. DC will answer using content from all project documents simultaneously.

Tip! For best results when chatting with your project, you will want to:

  • Be specific about the clause or issue: clearly identify the section of the contract or type of risk you want to analyze (e.g., indemnity, delay, or payment terms).

  • Use relevant context: include project details, such as the type of construction, location, or contractual relationship (e.g., general contractor vs. subcontractor).

  • Ask targeted questions: frame questions to address specific concerns, like potential liability, compliance requirements, or dispute resolution mechanisms.

  • Iterate and refine: if the AI's response doesn't fully address your concern, clarify the request or add details.

  1. To scope your conversation to a specific document, use the document picker within the chat interface.

Accessing Playbooks in Procore

  1. From the DC side panel, navigate to the Playbook view.

  2. Select the document(s) associated with the playbook you want to review.

  3. Playbook results will display directly in the Procore side panel.

Generating Artifacts in Chat

  1. Use the same chat commands available in the main Document Crunch app (e.g., redlines, version comparisons).

  2. Generated outputs will include download links in the chat.

Note: Artifacts are not automatically saved into Procore. Download and save them manually as needed.
