Applying a Review (formerly known as Checklists)
Last updated: February 10, 2026
Background
Reviews (formerly known as Checklists) allows you to create customized review workflows that guide you through contract analysis with AI-powered summaries and linked citations directly to your document. The new Reviews feature integrates seamlessly with your PDF, providing improved answer quality and a more intuitive experience that aligns with how you naturally work through contracts. Use Reviews for systematic contract analysis during bidding, pre-signature review, negotiation support, and ongoing project compliance checks. All existing custom checklists and DC Library templates have been automatically migrated to the enhanced experience.
Things to Consider
Reviews are now the primary way to analyze contract provisions, replacing the separate Provisions feature from 1.0
AI summary citations are linked directly to document references with visible markers in your PDF
You can start and stop your review process—the "jump back in" feature returns you to where you left off
You must complete your review in one sitting, as there is currently no ability to regenerate AI summaries once generated
Copying AI summary text can be done by selecting and copying the text directly (no dedicated copy button)
Notes cannot be added to individual review items, but sticky notes are available for the PDF itself
Commenting functionality is coming soon
Assignment capabilities are not yet available
Steps
Creating a New Review
Navigate to your document and click on the Reviews tab
Click the +Add Review button
Select a review template from the DC Library or choose one of your custom review templates
Click Create Review to begin
Tip! You can configure review templates with powerful customization options to match your company's specific requirements and workflows.
Completing a Review
Review each question or checklist item in sequence
For each item, read the AI-generated summary with its linked citations
Click on citation markers to navigate directly to the referenced section in your PDF
Mark items as complete as you progress through your review
Use the Jump Back In feature if you need to pause—this will return you to your exact position when you resume
Note: The AI summaries in Reviews provide improved answer quality compared to previous versions. Since Reviews now handle provision analysis, you'll no longer encounter disagreements between different analysis tools.
Navigating Citations and References
Within each AI summary, look for citation markers that link to specific document locations
Click any citation marker to jump directly to that section in your PDF
The referenced text will be highlighted in your document for easy identification
Use your browser's back button or the breadcrumb navigation to return to your review
Using Sticky Notes
While reviewing your document, click anywhere in the PDF where you want to add a note
Select the Sticky Note tool from the Notes & Markups panel
Add your comments and observations directly on the PDF
These notes will be visible to anyone with access to this crunch
Note: While you cannot add notes directly to review items, sticky notes on the PDF itself provide a flexible way to capture your thoughts and observations during the review process.
Managing Multiple Reviews
You can add multiple reviews to a single document to analyze different aspects of your contract
Each review operates independently and maintains its own progress tracking
Access all your reviews from the Reviews tab
Click on any review name to continue where you left off or to view completed reviews
