Manage Reviews on your Crunch

Background

Reviews (formerly called checklists in version 1.0) allow you to systematically evaluate documents using custom review templates or Document Crunch's library templates. Reviews provide AI-generated summaries with document citations that link directly to source text, helping you quickly assess contract provisions and requirements. Use reviews during contract analysis to ensure all critical provisions are identified and evaluated, when comparing multiple contracts against standard criteria, or when conducting thorough pre-signature due diligence on agreements.

Things to Consider

  • You can apply multiple reviews to a single document

  • Review items display document source tags (chips) in the crunch view that link directly to the referenced text in your PDF

  • The "Jump back in" feature remembers your progress, allowing you to return to where you last worked in a review

  • You cannot currently add notes to individual review items (use sticky notes on the PDF itself instead)

  • All review work is visible to anyone who can access the crunch

  • When multiple review items reference the same location, they will stack and can be viewed individually

Steps

Viewing Your Reviews

  1. Click on your document name from the dashboard to open the crunchview

  2. Navigate to the Overview tab to see all reviews applied to your document

  3. Click on any review name to open that specific review and view its items

    Tip! If you've started working on a review, the Overview tab will show a "Jump back in" option that takes you directly to where you left off.

Adding a Review

  1. From the Overview tab, click the Add a review button in the Quick Actions section

  2. Select the review template you want to apply from the available options

  3. Wait for processing to complete

    Note: You will see an In Progress indicator while the review is being generated. Once completed, the review will be available to view, and you may receive an email notification.

    Tip! You can also add a review by clicking the Add button within any existing review tab.

Switching Between Reviews

  1. While viewing any review, locate the dropdown menu at the top of the review panel

  2. Click the dropdown to see all reviews applied to the document

  3. Select the review you want to view from the list

Working With Review Items

  1. Click on any review item to view the AI-generated summary and analysis

  2. Review the document source tags (chips) that appear on the side of your PDF

  3. Click on a chip to highlight the corresponding text in the document

  4. If multiple review items reference the same location, click View those to see each item individually

    Tip! Document source tags show which review they belong to and link directly to that review item when clicked.

Downloading Review Work

  1. Open the review you want to download

  2. Click the Download to Excel button to export your review items and their summaries

Removing a Review

  1. Navigate to the Reviews tab

  2. In the drop down, select the review you want to remove

  3. Select the 3 dots to the right of the Review name

  4. Click the Remove Review button

  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted

    Note: Deleting a review will permanently remove all associated AI summaries and cannot be undone.
