Global Team Search in Document Crunch
Last updated: June 4, 2026
Background
Global Search in Document Crunch gives you a fast, keyboard-friendly way to navigate within your current team — quickly finding projects, documents, folders, and answers without having to manually hunt through menus or pages. Whether you're looking for a specific project, document, folder, or an answer to a contract question, the search dialog brings everything to one place. It also surfaces knowledge base articles directly inside the app, so you get answers without leaving your workflow. Use Global Search to quickly jump to any part of the platform, find your files, or get guidance from Document Crunch's help content — all from a single shortcut.
Things to Consider
Global Search can be accessed from any page within the application
Search results are organized into three categories: Quick Links (app pages and features), Popular Articles (knowledge base content), and your own Projects, Folders, and Documents
Knowledge base articles open inside the application — you will not be redirected to an external page or a new tab
Quick Links navigate you directly to the relevant page and will automatically scroll to and highlight the specific setting or element on that page
The default empty state displays 3 Quick Links and 5 Popular Articles before you begin typing
Search is responsive and works on mobile devices; however, the Command + K keyboard shortcut is designed for desktop use
Global Search does not currently support searching by contract content, clause text, or crunch-level AI insights — it is limited to navigation items, files by name, and knowledge base articles
Search results are scoped to your current team only — Global Search will not return projects, folders, or documents from other teams within your organization
Steps
Click the magnifying glass icon in the navigation bar, or press Command + K (Mac) / Ctrl + K (Windows) from anywhere in the application to open the Global Search dialog.
Tip! The search dialog is fully keyboard-friendly. Use your Up and Down arrow keys to move between results, and press Enter to navigate to the selected item.
Begin typing to filter results. The search will return matching items across all four categories simultaneously:
Quick Links — static pages and features within the app (e.g., Settings, specific tools)
Popular Articles — knowledge base articles that match your search term
Projects — your existing projects by name
Folders — your folders by name
Documents — your documents by name
Click on a Quick Link result to navigate to that page. If the result points to a specific setting or element on a long page, the application will automatically scroll to and highlight that section for you.
Click on a Popular Article result to read the article in-page. The content will display inside Document Crunch without opening a new tab or navigating you away from your work. Click anywhere outside the article panel or press Escape to close it.
Click on a Project, Folder, or Document result to navigate directly to that item:
Projects will take you to the project view
Folders will take you to that folder
Documents will open the crunch view for that file
To close the search dialog at any time, click the X button inside the dialog or press the Escape key on your keyboard. Press Command + K / Ctrl + K again to reopen it.
