Transitioning to the New Document Crunch: FAQ

Last updated: March 12, 2026

Background

The new Document Crunch platform introduces Project Assist, a more powerful CrunchAI experience that enables your team to identify and reduce risk across an entire project — not just within a single document. As we move all customers to the new platform, we want to make sure you feel prepared and informed. This article answers the most common questions about what's changing, what's staying the same, and what to expect throughout the transition.

Do I have to move to the new Document Crunch platform?

Yes. All customers will transition to the new Document Crunch platform with Project Assist. You currently have early access so your team can explore the new experience ahead of the full transition planned for April 2026 — not so it comes as a surprise.

What happens to all of my data in the Document Crunch I use today?

Your data is safe. Your company information, users, and checklist and playbook templates have already been migrated to the new system. Starting in April 2026, we will migrate your remaining data — including crunches, chats, and playbooks — from the original Document Crunch to the new platform.

Does data move between both platforms?

No. Data does not transfer from the new Document Crunch back to the original Document Crunch. All existing data will be moved to the new system starting in April 2026.

What is happening to the original Document Crunch?

We will continue to support the original Document Crunch until all core features have been moved to the new platform. At that point, the original Document Crunch will be deprecated. Our current target for deprecation is late 2026.

When will I lose access to the Document Crunch I use today?

You will retain access to the original Document Crunch through your full data migration, which is planned to begin in April 2026. We will communicate your specific timeline well in advance so your team has time to prepare.

Will my pricing or contract change when I move to the new platform?

No. Your existing contract terms remain in place. The transition to the new Document Crunch is included as part of your current subscription — there is no additional cost.

What is Project Assist?

Project Assist brings cross-document intelligence to CrunchAI, allowing you to chat across every document in a project at once. You can identify inconsistencies, gaps, and hidden risks by asking questions that span contracts, specifications, addenda, and related documents — and get answers backed by traceable citations from across the entire project.

Can I chat across more than one project?

Not yet. Cross-project chat is on our roadmap, and we will share more details as that work progresses. For now, Project Assist works within a single project at a time.

What features from the original Document Crunch are not yet available in the new platform?

We are working toward full feature parity with the original platform. A small number of features — including Version Comparison and the Procore integration — are not yet available in the new Document Crunch, but are actively being built. Your CSM can provide the most current status, and we will communicate updates as features become available.

Can I add new users to my account in the new platform?

Yes. You can manage users directly within the new Document Crunch platform. If you need help adding users or have questions about your account setup, reach out to your CSM or contact us at support@documentcrunch.com.

Is the new Document Crunch platform available on mobile?

Yes, the new Document Crunch platform with Project Assist is mobile responsive and can be accessed from a mobile browser. Mobile functionality is still maturing — it works, but is not yet optimized for every workflow. Improvements are actively in development. For complex document review, a desktop experience will give you the best results today.

How do I get trained on the new Document Crunch platform?

We are hosting a series of live webinars to walk you through the new platform. Your CSM will send you a registration link with the date and time for your session. The webinar includes a full product demo, a walkthrough of your transition timeline, and time for Q&A. Additional resources — including quick start guides and training articles — will be available on our help site ahead of your access date.

Who do I contact if I have questions or run into issues?

Your CSM is your first point of contact for anything transition-related. For product or technical issues, you can also reach our support team at support@documentcrunch.com or submit a request directly from within the platform.
