Import Files from Trimble Connect and Trimble ProjectSight
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Background
Many construction teams keep their contracts, specs and drawings in Trimble Connect and Trimble ProjectSight. Until now, getting those files into Document Crunch meant downloading each one to your computer and uploading it again. With the Trimble integration, you can browse your Connect projects and ProjectSight portfolios from the Add file dialog you already use and import files in a few clicks. You sign in with your Trimble ID, so there's no separate login or account to link. You'll only see the projects and files you already have access to in Trimble.
Things to Consider
An admin must turn on the integration for your organization under Org Settings → General → Integrations. If the Enable Trimble toggle isn't there, contact your Customer Success Manager or support@documentcrunch.com.
Access follows your Trimble permissions.
Trimble Connect: You need to be a member of a Connect project and have a Connect license.
ProjectSight: You need access to a portfolio and must have signed in to ProjectSight at least once.
Supported file types: PDF, DOC, DOCX and TXT. Other file types, such as CAD files, BIM models and images, are hidden in the browser.
ProjectSight Drawings are imported as one combined PDF.
ProjectSight Specifications can't be imported yet. Download them from ProjectSight and upload them to Document Crunch manually.
Imports are manual and one-way. Document Crunch doesn't change anything in Trimble. Files that are later edited, moved or deleted in Trimble don't update in Document Crunch.
You may be asked to accept new Trimble permissions the first time you sign in after this release. Document Crunch asks for this so it can show your ProjectSight portfolios.
Steps
Enable the Trimble integration (Admins)
Go to Org Settings → General → Integrations.
Turn on Enable Trimble and then Save in the top right corner.
Users in your organization who sign in with Trimble ID will now see Trimble in the Add file dialog.
Import files from Trimble Connect
Sign in with your Trimble ID and open the project you want to add files to.
Click + New → Document.
Select Trimble, then Trimble Connect.
Choose a Connect project and browse its folders. Use the breadcrumbs at the top to go back.
Check the files you want. You can select files from more than one folder.
Click Select (N).
A progress bar shows the import. When it finishes, the files appear in your project and start processing like any other upload.
Tip: Folders with more than 100 items show a Load more button at the bottom.
Import files from the ProjectSight File Library

Click + New → Document.
Select Trimble, then Trimble ProjectSight.
Choose a portfolio, then a project.
Browse the File Library folders and select your files.
Click Select (N) and wait for the import to finish.
Note: It's normal to see empty folders, since the browser mirrors your ProjectSight File Library.
Import ProjectSight Drawings
In Trimble ProjectSight, open a portfolio and project, then go to Drawings.
If you'd like, filter by Drawing Set.
Select the drawings you want, or use Select all.
Click Select (N). Your selected drawings arrive in Document Crunch as a single combined PDF.
Re-import a file that's already in your project
Browse to the file in Trimble Connect or ProjectSight.
Check the label next to the file. It shows whether the file is already in your project or has a newer version in Trimble.
Select the file and choose one of the following:
Add as new version: Adds the file as the next version of the existing file. Nothing is deleted.
Keep both: Imports a separate copy.
Skip: Doesn't import the file.
If you're importing several files, check Apply to all to use the same choice for each one.
Note: For ProjectSight files, and for files imported before this feature was released, Document Crunch can't always tell whether there's a newer version in Trimble. Nothing is pre-selected, so choose the option you want.
Troubleshooting: I don't see any projects
If Trimble Connect shows no projects, or Connect or ProjectSight doesn't appear in the list:
Sign in to Trimble Connect or ProjectSight directly, using the same Trimble ID email you use for Document Crunch.
Make sure you can see the project there. If you can't, ask your Trimble administrator for access or a license.
If you can see the project in Trimble but not in Document Crunch, contact support@documentcrunch.com.
